The Cavs Played A Hype Video Last Night On The Jumbotron That Was Basically A Guy Beating Up His Girlfriend, Whoops!
Oooh boy. I think all of you know that we don’t fall quickly into the fake internet outrage that has become a hallmark of 2015. Half of twitter is just people who go on the internet to get upset about something. But with that said, I think I can understand the anger here. What the fuck were the Cavs thinking? Is Cleveland trapped in a time warp? Have they opened the blinds and looked outside at the world these past 50 years? I mean there was zero percent chance this wasn’t going to get people mad. I still am not quite sure what I just watched, so bizarre and low rent. Felt like I was watching a public access commercial that was shot in one take for 200 bucks. Would love to have seen the creative meeting for this one.
-So what should we do for Game 2 guys?
-How about we do that “Get Louder” thing and we put the sound meter on the Jumbotron?
-Nah, boring
-Ok, what about if we have a girl and a guy dancing and then the girl is a Bulls fan so the guy throws her across the room?
-Will she then become a Cavs fan because she’s afraid of catching another beating for not being “All In”?
-Oh Definitely, that’s the best part.
-Sold!
Oh and by the way, just to clarify, I don’t think the Cavs did this maliciously. Obviously they didn’t think this through at all, but it’s more tone deaf and weird than “everyone go beat your girlfriend!”. Cleveland is like your dumb little brother that doesn’t know better, just perpetually a decade or two behind the rest of normal society.
PS
If David Stern has an ounce of integrity he suspends Lebron for Game 3 or at least retroactively gives the Bulls Game 2. Fair is fair.
