Throwback: We Need Extreme Dodgeball Back In Our Lives
So ESPN tweeted out this video earlier today. Trampoline Dodgeball. I’m sure it’s been around for a while but I’ve never seen it before. Really it’s just a combination of two of the greatest games of our generation–Slamball and Extreme Dodgeball. I’ve written before about how Slamball needs to make a comeback. But now here we are. The place is America and the year is 2016. We have reached our darkest hour. 2 idiots are fighting it out for who gets to run our nation into the ground. Cleveland is the winningest city in the country. And “2 Broke Girls” is still on television. Times are tough indeed, my friends. Which is why if we want order and American dominance to be restored, we must find a way to bring back Extreme Dodgeball.
You see, things were different back then. We weren’t trying to be great again, we just were. We were a nation that televised grown adults playing dodgeball. Extreme dodgeball to be exact. But now look at us. We’ve resorted to watching nerds play video games and fly drones around a track (I’ll admit that the jury is still out on Drone Racing. Could actually be pretty sweet). I don’t know the exact moment when it was, but at some point we just lost our way. And I think it coincided with the cancellation of Extreme Dodgeball.
And sure, Extreme Dodgeball came out in 2004 right after the movie. The Dodgeball craze was hot in the streets then. Those crazes don’t last forever. Just ask Harambe and Ken Bone. But the fatigue has gone away. Enough time has passed at this point to where we can bring Extreme Dodgeball back just in time before this entire country goes to complete shit.
