The Vegas NBA Win Totals Are Out And There Is Money To Be Made
The 2016 NBA win totals are out, and there is a lot to digest. Right off the bat the Warriors at 66.5 stands out, and to be honest even that feels a little low. The rest of the heavyweights aren’t that surprising, with SA, LAC and the defending champs CLE all living zip codes you would expect.
Then sitting pretty is the Boston Celtics at 51.5. Fifth highest total in the entire NBA. Not too shabby. We know that around these parts we are hammering that over (#52) so I would say Vegas got this one right. I won’t lie, it feels nice that Vegas has this amount of confidence in the Celtics, they obviously learned their lesson from last year when you could get the Cs at 44.5.
In looking at the rest of the board, there’s definitely money to be made. For example, lets look at Clem’s aka Glem’s Knicks. Big picture, the Knicks are going to be a disaster, but for the sake of this line, they can be 7 games better than last year. I think Year 2 of Godzingis and any residual impact from Team USA for Melo should keep them a few games under .500. They aren’t called a Super Team for nothing.
I know people are high on the Timberwolves, there’s a lot to love about their roster and their coach. But 41.5 is getting a little ahead of ourselves in my humble opinion. This team won 24 games last year. Last time I checked they still play in the Western conference, so show me who is regressing that much which allows them to win 18 more games? I think they’ll be improved, but my money is on the under.
Another shocker is the Bulls only at 38.5. That’s too low. I know they lost Rose and Gasol, but I think Bobby Portis is going to be pretty good, and they feel more like a 40-42 team again. To be honest the same thing could be said for the Hornets. 39.5? This team won 48 games last year and I get they lost Al Jefferson, but he was essentially a non factor last year. If you want to win money, you bet the over on both of these.
Also don’t think for a second I didn’t get a good chuckle out of the Lakers at 24.5 and the Nets at 20.5. While I think the Lakers will be somewhat watchable given their young talent, the Nets are going to be an insult to the game of basketball and I for one cannot wait. Advantage Trader Danny.
If you have any interest in winning money, those are some places you could start. Is there a win total you love that I didn’t mention? Say it in the comments. Good luck.
