Update: Josh Gordon Trade is Official. His Hamstring is Healed. He Can Play Sunday.
Adam Schefter is not one to let a major scoop like Ian Rapoport’s go without being a One Upper. So not only do the Pats only give up a 5th rounder, if Gordon for some reason doesn’t play 10 games – let’s say, through an act of God or something because it’s impossible to imagine an all-out gamer like him missing any time whatsoever – then they get a pick as compensation. And given the opposite direction the teams are heading, you’re undoubtedly looking at the last pick of the 5th round and the first pick of the 6th or 7th. So the Pats would be moving back one pick or maybe 33, depending on what they worked out. For a Pro Bowl 27-year-old who once averaged 18.9 yards per reception and had 9 TDs catching balls from Jason Campbell, Brandon Weeden and our boy Brian Hoyer.
More importantly, he’s miraculously over that hamstring pull he suffered between Browns practice Friday and the time he showed up to meetings on Saturday. So just being around the Patriots on paper has cured his injury. Is there any doubt they can work that same magic to keep him off the ganja? All you have to do is be associated with the Patriots for a few minutes and all your medical issues resolve themselves.
I’ll wager you anything this is Matt Patricia right now.
