I Left My House For An Hour To Eat Lunch And Kirk Cousins Somehow Is The New Week 1 Starting QB For The Redskins

What in the hell is going on? You leave your house for an hour and halfway through a bite Kirk Cousins gets named Week 1 starting QB. They lied about Griffin’s concussion, they said he was cleared then not cleared to play week 3 of the preseason, and now he’s on the bench for regular season game 1. It is absolutely amazing how the Redskins continue to find ways to add to their circus act. Seriously it’s so impressive. 2 years ago it was a shit show. Last season I was like “no way it can be as bad as last year” but they figured out a way. And now here we are, hours before preseason game 3, and they are already at disfunction level midnight. It’s truly, truly remarkable.

What’s funny is from my perspective, it seems like I have to praise Gruden for finally standing up to Dan Snyder. We have known for a long, long time that Jay Gruden hates RG3 and doesn’t want him as his QB. But Griffin is Dan Snyder’s guy, and Dan Snyder will fire a coach if he doesn’t play RG3. That’s the fear he instills into his coaches, it’s why nobody wants to come here, and it’s why this QB storyline is just getting started. Buckle up guys, it’s going to be a shit show.

And it’s not like Cousins is even that good himself. He is a turnover machine. Threw one of the worst passes I’ve ever seen an NFL QB throw last season, wish I could find the Vine. But he runs Gruden’s offense more to the coach’s liking, so it looks like that’s who he is going to go with, Snyder be dammed. (I would not put it past Snyder to fire Gruden before the end of the day)

And of course as I’m typing this blog, other members of DC sports media are saying they’re hearing Cousins isn’t necessarely the starter for week one. Awesome.
