If you had told me as recently as two weeks ago that the Mets would become the hottest team in baseball behind the phrase Lets Fucking Go Mets, I wouldn’t believe you. Like not even a little bit. Yet here we are today. El Pow has given the fans a new rally cry, the boys are hot, the Mets are #back, and we have a new GIF to celebrate wins with.
I’m honestly not sure if the Mets go on this run if Pete Alonso doesn’t throw a big fat F bomb in the middle of a LGM in a Notes app tweet last week. But I’m also not going to question it because we are in the endgame now. Mets fans have given whatever shreds of their hearts remain back to this team and Pete Alonso just gave them a whole bunch of the evil H word (commonly known as Hope to fanbases not crushed every single year) by helping carry this team to the good side of .500 once again by sweeping a doubleheader against the lowly Marlins.
I know the teams the Mets have done this against have sucked. But you can’t tell me that Citi Field wasn’t pure ELECTRICITY tonight as the Mets unfurled big ol’ lumber dicks all over the fish.

Add Scooter And The Big Man to the list of unlikely things we’ve heard this season along with non-horse injuries and the D in JD Davis standing for Davis making him Jonathan Davis Davis.
Anyway, nights like tonight are what drive me mad that the Wilpons don’t invest more in the team. Because this fanbase full of some of the craziest, most passionate fans on the planet deserve it. And now we have a sick son of a bitch leading the team on the field and off of it with the greatest subtle change to a saying since radio stations censored Lil Jon lyrics by replacing them with the word Skeet. Now anything less than a packed house of butchers and bakers and people in the street chanting LFGM will be a disappointment. Recording We Gotta Believe after the turn of events over the last week is going to be a DOOZY!
