What Would Each Barstool Employee's Youtube Thumbnail Be?
Before we begin, yes, it’s true. My crimes have finally caught up to me and I have been perma-suspended from twitter. I made the grave mistake of using the song ‘Passionfruit’ in a GoT meme in 2017 which got reported by a Universal Music Group algorithm bot. So say goodbye to @KenJac and hello to @JackKennedy. Anyway, I’ve been doing a ton of YouTubing since being jailed, and it reminded me how much I DESPISE YouTuber thumbnails. They all follow the same formula of Weird Face + Clickbait Headline along with a bubbly font. The absolutely hilarious Rob Whisman pointed this out/parodied this in one of my all time favorite tweets.
Since I have nothing better to do after my 26k follower account was destroyed, I went around the office taking pictures of everybody with the same instructions. “Just give me your best reaction face, it can be using any emotion”. Before you ask, no, I did not tell any of them what the picture was actually for. I got around 50 shots, and went to work putting together custom youtube thumbnails for each person. Here is the fruits of my labor:
