If You've Ever Wanted To See A Hockey Goalie Get Murdered On The Ice, Boy Do I Have The Video For You

And that, boys and girls, is how you get yourself a lifetime ban from pretty much every hockey rink in North America. Now I’m going to say something somewhat controversial here (shocker, I know), but I don’t think I can blame the kid for this massive demolition and/or murder. Like when this thing goes to trial, I think you have to go with manslaughter instead of murder. Because goalies are getting wayyyyyy too comfortable playing the puck these days. They have their cozy little trapezoid back their and they think they’re king of the fucking castle. Just taking their sweet ol’ time to play the puck then don’t hustle back to get in the net once the D retrieves. Essentially what happens here is goalies have been given a free pass to set a pick on the forecheck for their defensemen to grab the puck. Which is bullshit given the fact that the forecheckers are coming in hot like a bat out of hell trying to get that puck back. So you have some kid hauling ass to get the puck while some lazy jackass wearing the most pads out of everybody on the ice just stands in your way? Doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a charge but maybe this is unavoidable if the goalie shows a little hustle out there.

Then again, the fact that this kid was so ready to throw down immediately after the hit tells me that he either A) planned to send that goalie on a one-way trip to hell or B) this isn’t his first rodeo of running the tendy which means he’s probably a scumbag through and through. Either way, this is a play that ends up with a serious brawl in the parking lot after the game. Just wish we had some more footage of the aftermath. Bet it would have been a big…. hit.
