Dustin Byfuglien vs Jamie Oleksiak Is A True Unstoppable Force vs Immovable Object Collision

If you felt a little tremble in the ground last night, it wasn’t an earthquake. Well at least not a natural one. It was 6’5″ 260 lb Dustin Byfuglien colliding with 6’7″ 255 lb Jamie Oleksiak up in Winnipeg. Just a couple of absolute mutants crashing into each other whilst wearing full body armor and flying around on a sheet of ice wearing 1/8″ steel blades on their feet allowing them to travel 20mph.

It’s not very often that Dustin Byfuglien is involved in a hit and he ends up getting the worst of it. Actually, I can’t even think of a time that it’s ever happened at all. Especially not when Byfuglien is the one delivering the hit. But I guess the impact of these two ogres was so violent that it sent a shockwave through Byfuglien’s body and all the way up to his skull where it scrambled his brains. I mean you’re looking at a dude who is severely concussed at the end of that GIF there. Guy can’t even stand up on his own to get over the boards. But somehow he ended up back in the game last night after being cleared to go by the NHL protocol. I mean…listen, if Big Buff wants to get back out there when he has mashed potatoes for brains then more power to him. Dude is an animal like that. But hits like that between two of the more massive humans in the league don’t happen very often. And after seeing the aftermath of that hit, I think we all can understand why.
