NYC Is Hosting A 'Ticker Tape' Parade To Celebrate The US Women's National Soccer Team Stomping The Life Out Of All Of Their Opponents

A lot of people have already written about the US Women’s National Soccer team, but this is awesome. A ticker-tape parade in the Canyon of Heroes. They did it three years ago when the won, and I’m pumped they’re doing it again. Here’s some footage from the last time they won.

For those of you who don’t know what a ticker tape parade is, it’s essentially a parade where people throw rolls of paper from the NYSE. At least that’s what it used to be. Now it’s mostly confetti. It’s an old school and super classy way to celebrate stomping on the throats of every other soccer team in the world. Will there be twerking? I don’t know, but if I had to guess, I’d say yes.

Regardless, the parade is taking place Wednesday at 9:30 AM and if you’re in the area you should go. The amount of records this team broke on the road to their FOURTH World Cup Victory is insane.

– Highest Margin of Victory (13-0 against Thailand)

– Most goals in a single women’s game (Alex Morgan tied record at five)

– First coach ever to win two world cup titles (Jill Ellis)

– Most Consecutive World Cup Wins (tied for two with Germany)

– Most goals in a FIFA Women’s World Cup Tournament (26)

– Most FIFA Women’s World Cup wins (four)

You could honestly make an argument that they’re the greatest soccer team of all time. Hopefully they have the time of their lives on Wednesday. They deserve it. USA! USA! USA!
