Mashawn Lynch Used To Take Shots Of Hennessy Before Every Game

Marshawn is far from the first, and certainly will not be the last, athlete to drink before, during, or after games. That's not what this is about. What this is about is how boring and dull those Colts locker rooms had to have been during the Peyton era. I mean my word this man wasn't even thinking alcohol when Marshawn said he took a pregame shot. And as a quick aside - Marshawn saying "Shot, shot and a half" roughly translates to three shots minimum. There's just no chance he was nursing the same bottle all season long.

A shot of Gatorade most certainly is not a thing. A shot of toradol? Fair, I don't think that's crazy to think. Any sort of pain relieving shot makes sense. I'm sure you could argue that's what the Hennessy was for, so Peyton was at least in the neighborhood on that one. But even the follow up questions he sounded like more and more of a narc. "Was there a team bar somewhere in the locker room?" Yeah bro, the Seahawks were getting the entire squad tanked before kickoff every week. That was why they thought throwing with the Super Bowl on the line was a good idea. Because only a drunk would even think of that as an option in that moment.

This is one of the things I love about football. These two humans couldn't have less in common, I think that's made abundantly clear in this clip. You get them talking about some good ol' fashioned pigskin and suddenly they're the same guy.
