Jay Gruden Revealed On The Record That The Coaching Staff Would Scout And Evaluate Players And Then Dan Snyder Would "Come in off his yacht and make the pick"

Hey look, another blog about another douchebag owner who deserves nothing less than the death penalty. This one is good though, because Jay Gruden is fresh out of fucks to give. It's not often you see a coach currently in the league throw an owner under the bus, but that's exactly what he did. The floor is yours, Jay:

“Kyle Smith was really good about listening to the coaches because they also did evaluations. When it came our time to pick,we’d always talk about the picks, and did all our scenarios and then the owner would come in off his yacht and make the pick.”

YES JAY GRUDEN MY GUY. Smoke cigs, get black out drunk, and go off the top rope onto Dan Snyder for how badly he manages his franchise. That's why this team was in such disarray for so long. Why dozens of employees would leave their front office jobs every offseason. Because he's the WORST. Imagine scouting guys for months and then Lil Dan Dan gets off his boat and goes nah, let's take this WR, he's fast. It's like how I used to sort by speed on Madden for my draft picks to build an Al Davis (RIP) dream team. Dan Snyder has no idea what he's doing. Some of the better known blunders were the Malcolm Kelly pick, the RG3 trade, and of course the Dwayne Haskins pick. And we know what he did in between with the free agent signings and trades, no need to go down that road again (Haynesworth, McNabb, Archuleta, Brandon Lloyd, etc etc etc). It's the worst way to run a team, period.

Hopefully now with Ron Rivera we won't have to deal with this again. So far it seems good. Riverboat is bringing in his guys, and it doesn't look like there has been outside interference from Snyder. I worry every day that Dan will get bored and be like "you know what, this is my team, let's fuck shit up". As long as he is the owner I will worry about that, no matter what. And when the day comes Rivera is gone, that's going to be the scariest day of my life.

Things are good for now though. They won't stay this way, but they are good for now. Knock on all the wood in the world.
