MORE DAN SNYDER: He May Have Been Using Two Books To Hide And Manipulate The Team's Financials (Very Illegal!)
Look, I'm sorry for the Dan Snyder blogs. I wish I didn't have to do them. 3 in a 24 hour span is a bit much. But my hands are tied. I have no choice. Every time I refresh Twitter, there's more about him. So many straws on the camel's back, will this be the one that breaks it?
FOS - A Congressional committee is expanding the scope of its investigation into the Washington Commanders and is primed to use its subpoena power to delve into the finances of the team and owner Dan Snyder.
At least one person familiar with the team’s financial health was already interviewed by committee investigators, who are now exploring whether the Commanders used “two books” of financial information that paint different pictures of the team’s money situation, sources with knowledge of the investigation told Front Office Sports.
The timing and number of subpoenas, as well as who specifically will be targeted, was not immediately known. FOS has learned some of what investigators are seeking through a series of interviews, most on the condition of anonymity, for fear of retaliation or because details of the investigation have not been made public.
- The committee is seeking interviews and documents related to allegations that the Commanders used deceptive accounting practices. Per the NFL’s Constitution and Bylaws, clubs are required to submit a certified audit report annually.
- Investigators also received allegations of pay disparity between male and female employees, including bonuses.
Two books! Deceptive accounting practices! Pay disparity between men and women! You know what this sounds like to me? JAIL TIME. I hope the IRS, SEC, FBI, 20/20, 60 Minutes, and Barack Obama are all looking into this. I need Barbara Walters on the scene. I need all hands on deck. I need Congress, red and blue and green and white alike to join hands, sing Kumbaya, and get Snyder the fuck outta here. I mean how many different investigations can one man go through until he isn't fit to own a team anymore? Because I think we're at 100 now.
