This 2+ Minute Blooper Reel Of All The Errors, Miscues, And Flawed Fundamentals The Phillies Had Against The Mets This Season Explains Why They Went 5-14 Against The Amazins

Sorry Keith, didn't mean for you to see the butchering of your beloved game, which admittedly looks even more hilarious when Yakety Sax plays in the background since that song NEVER misses. The video may be 2:20 long, but I'm pretty sure it's because that's the longest you can post a video on Twitter. So there is probably a Snyder Cut of even more plays where the Phillies recklessly threw the ball around the yard against the Mets like Jalen Hurts.

Anyway, in case you were wondering how the Mets could go 14-5 against a division rival that is in the playoff race, that video is your answer. I know people love talking about exit velo, XBA, and all the other fancy stats out there to discount this Mets team along with the super advanced stat known as "Luck" that every third grader references. But sometimes baseball is as easy as hitting it at where your opponents ain't, or in the case of this year's Phillies, hitting it where they are because they are a team built on a foundation of being fatally flawed on defense and the bullpen, which never turns out well. Trust me, I know what I am talking about because almost every Mets team was built on that same foundation during the Wilpons reign of terror.

I'll take a break for the Phillies fans yelling at their screen that the Mets have more errors than the Phillies this season because the Phillies roster full of DHs don't have the defenders that can reach many of the balls the Mets defense can make plays on.

Nonetheless, I do think the Phillies are a good team. Not as good of a team as the Mets, as these numbers will show.

But still a very good team that kept fightin' no matter how many times the Mets ripped their guts out or they ripped their own guts out before Mark Canha flipped the calendar on this rivalry to next season (or the playoffs).

Even though I hate the Phillies due to the way their team owned the Mets in the late 2000s, I will be rooting for the Phils to take care of business against the Braves in September while the Mets finally get the schedule that Atlanta played during their crazy winning streak that had their fans acting like they just won back-to-back World Series instead of shaving a few games off of the Mets first place lead. Hopefully they can tighten up their defense for those series so their announcers can act like they know more about good baseball than this guy.
