UTSA Ripped Army's Hearts Out On A Walk-Off TD In Their Second Nutso OT Game In As Many Weeks

It was looking pretty bleak for UTSA, who I'm blogging about more than would've ever expected to. After a crushing, triple-OT loss to Houston in their season opener, the Roadrunners were in real danger of falling to 0-2 against Army on Saturday before a stunning rally, a blown kick to end regulation and a mic drop touchdown to end it!

I pumped him up last week so I'll do it again: UTSA quarterback Frank Harris is a legit player. Got that dawg in him and so forth. Completed 32 of 45 passes for 359 yards and three TDs this afternoon, and ran for 30 more yards.

Army pass-rusher Andre Carter II is an intriguing NFL Draft prospect and got to Harris for two sacks, but the Roadrunners field general was unfazed. Trailing 28-14 against the Black Knights, who are notorious for ball control with their run-heavy offense, makes it even more difficult for any given opponent to rally once they're up by multiple scores.

This was also an extreme outlier day in terms of passing attack production for Army!

Frank Harris still led his team back. Look at this man putting his body on the line!!

Branden Brady had 19 carries for 76 yards and two late tuddies to help the Roadrunners tie the score. For real though, since when does Army football do shit like this!?

Unfortunately for the Roadrunners, Jared Sackett missed a 41-yard field goal as time expired to send the game to OT. Once Army went up 38-35, it set the stage for some Harris heroics.

Oh, and the spread was UTSA -2.5, so a nice little late cover action there.
