No One Enjoyed The Padres Celebration Last Night More Than Manny Machado
Hard not to feel happy for the true leader of the Padres, Manny Machado. He is the heartbeat of the club that knocked out the 111-win Dodgers and you know that felt good for him too because of how his short tenure with LA was. But as the last out was made last night in San Diego he started going nuts, and he deserves to.
When he signed his 10-year, $300 Million deal with the Padres, people said "ah he's just getting the bag and gonna play out in San Diego and no one is going to hear from him again." Wrong. They've built around him and put pieces around him and now are in their first NLCS since 1998. He's their leader, their best player, and their captain. So it's only right that he had a little fun celebrating with his guys, and it's safe to say he had the most fun out of everyone in that Padres clubhouse.
Of course he had to pop the top off, the right way to celebrate with your boys.
LOVE him going after Ortiz after Papi picked the Dodgers to win, Manny had to give it back to him.
19? Manny probably deleted 19 beers before getting into the clubhouse considering every time you saw him he had a handful of beer.
My man didn't give a single damn that he was live on TV and I don't think the producers did either. Dropping F bombs everywhere with the occasional "shit" sprinkled in. I love this interview. It just shows how excited he is to advance and how big it was to knock off that powerhouse of a ball club. What an interview here and good on Fox for just letting it ride all the way through.
It truly was an incredible scene in San Diego and now we get a matchup we've all kind of wanted. Manny Machado vs Bryce Harper. 2 of the top 3 draft picks from their class. 2 guys who were considered overrated jerks, both who have shed that label, and are now looked at as leaders of their new clubs. Shocker that guys will mature and grow up as they get older.
Obviously I love Manny from his Orioles days and I'm super pumped to see him have the success he's having in San Diego as he keeps building his HOF career. I can't wait to see how hard he celebrates when the Padres go to the World Series. Fox better make sure they have the bleep button ready.
