The True King Has Spoken. Michael Jordan Commented On Lebron Breaking The Scoring Record

Class on class from MJ per usual. Even if it is the most generic, blasè, canned response ever.

You just know deep down this kills him. He’s never been a fan of Lebron. This record, and every offensive record should be his, and everybody knows it.

Can you imagine if Jordan came into the league at 18, when Lebron did? After the physicality, and actually being allowed to play defense, was removed from the game? Sure, Jordan enjoyed special treatment. Alà “The Jordan Rules”, but the guy still got roughed up and pushed around whenever he went to the hole. Because that’s just how it was back then.

The thing that drives me nuts about people bitching about “The Jordan Rules”, or the special treatment guys like Tom Brady receive in other sports for comparison sakes, is that that slack is earned. It’s not just given for no reason. And it’s earned through really fucking hard work, and proven success.

Lebron was anointed “the next Jordan” when he was 16, and has enjoyed special treatment his entire life.

Jordan also spent 3 years in college, that Lebron didn’t, time that he could have been in the NBA racking up points instead.

Lebron has had the best trainers, personal chefs, physicians, and you name it his entire career. Granted, it’s still incredible he’s stayed in the shape he has, as long as he has, which has enabled him to play the game at such a high level as he has. But he’s had a TON of help. Literally the best of everything.

Jordan would smoke cigars, pound old fashioned’s, while playing 36 holes, and then head to the arena. Imagine what his off-season regimen was like?

And let’s not even get started on the 2 year hiatus he was forced to take and how many points that erased from his total as well.

It’s pretty crazy how high Jordan actually is on the list given how many fewer games he played (400), nevermind the competition he played against.

Call me an MJ dicksucker all you want, because that’s exactly what I’m doing.

With the game trending the way it is, and offensive production continuing to explode (250 pt totals in regulation on a nightly basis is bonkers), we might actually see this record fall in our lifetime.
