The 8-0 Rays Are An Absolute WAGON, Have Now Won Every Game This Season By 4 Or More Runs
Those pesky Rays man, I don't get it. Every year they trade some guys, sign a young player to an extension, make a move or 2 in the off-season and all they do is win. Right now there is no team better as they've played by far the best baseball so far. Yes, I know it's a small sample size, but hey what do you want them to do? 8-0 start with a +46 run differential. They are absolutely killing teams. An 11-0 laugher last night really helped skew that run differential, but still.
It's also crazy that they have won all 8 games by at least 4 and have only given up 18 runs this season. The schedule they've played is weak but again, what do you want them to do? You can only play who you play. Are they lucky that they have only played Detroit, Washington, and Oakland? Maybe a little, but they're just a damn good team that I feel like a lot of people slept on coming into he season. Their 8-0 start is the best start in baseball since the 2003 Royals went 9-0 to open the season.
The pitching has been great but the offense is just mashing the ball then pissing all over it. 21 homers already and they've got guys like Randy Arozarena hitting .367 with an OBP of .472 and 10 RBI already, Wander Franco hitting a cool .364 with an OBP of .417, Issac Parades hitting .320 and 2 bombs. They just have professional hitters, and boy are they hitting. Oh, they also don't have their ace in Tyler Glasnow because he's hurt like always. Now they've got something called a Jeffrey Springs who came to the Rays and suddenly turned into a beast. Shane McClanhan and Zach Efflin are also very good still and their bullpen once again is filled with guys you've never heard of who throw frisbees and disgusting breaking balls.
Again, I know it's early but they clearly are the best team in baseball. Won't surprise me if they have another one of their magical years and suddenly we blink and they're in the ALCS again. This is a fun club to watch so far, you may not know many of them, but man are they good.
