A Real Life Kid Named Happy Gilmore Has Committed To Play D1 Golf At Ball State

What a name and what a story. Not a big deal to get an Adam Sandler quote wishing you good luck too. We gotta get Verne Lundquist out there in Muncie, Indiana to commentate a tournament this year. Talk about true MACtion. I was a little disappointed to hear it isn't his birth name, but apparently he was given the nickname at the age of 6 after winning a "Little People's Golf Championship" tournament and by age 12 it was for all intents and purposes his official title. And he can do the swing according to his Twitter bio. Good enough for me. Let's meet at the 9th green at 9:00 to celebrate.

It's only a matter of time before the NIL money pours in for this kid and he's able to make some cash off his name. Would you have to give some royalties to Dennis Dugan? Who knows, but now we wait and see where Lafferty, Daniel ends up. Happy now has the opportunity to do something incredible and work his way to the tour and I'm rooting for him to get it done.

He's off to a good start — apparently he just finished top 2 and punched his ticket to the US Junior Amateur today as well:

Have a day Happy. Your move Shooter McGavin.
