"We Gotta Shorten The Season. It's Too Many Dang Games" - You Almost Have To Respect How Much Anthony Rendon Hates Playing Baseball Despite Being The Sixth Highest Paid Player In The Sport

Baseball has its haters without a doubt. I've been defending this dumb sport since the moment I was born. Full disclosure, it takes a special kind of fucked up sports fan to truly buy into a full baseball season and devote all that time and effort. When it's over you feel like you just went through a fucking marathon, and understandably so, but we continue to come back like clockwork every spring.
I mean if we're being honest, the season is without a doubt too long, especially with expanded playoffs being a thing. The beauty of baseball used to be how hard it was to make the postseason. Now with each league getting six spots in October the whole chase is watered down. There really is no reason for it to be as long as it is besides of course…money. Unfortunately for those who would welcome a shorter season, money makes the world go round. Owners are never going to agree to less games and lose money on TV rights, tickets, and concessions, even if it would produce a better product.
While I imagine a good amount of players share the same sentiment, it's tough when the most outspoken one is Anthony Rendon. You almost have to respect how much this guy hates playing baseball.
That rant made its way to who but Jonathan Papelbon. Anytime you can get him to chime in, you gotta.
Let's quickly remind ourselves that Rendon the warrior hasn't played in over 60 games since the 2019 season. Here are his career earnings.

His current Angels contract comes to $640k a game. He hasn't even sniffed playing half a season's worth of games since 2019 and here he is complaining about the grind.
And this isn't the first time we've heard Rendon roll his eyes about baseball. This guy has been out from the jump and made it known. If it were up to him he'd just live on his ranch in Texas, not caring about one thing going on in baseball. He probably wakes up every day furious that he's got to put on cleats, grab his glove, and take the field for a few hours during the summer. Four at bats? Exhausting to even think about. While fans spend their hard earned money on tickets and concessions to see these guys play, has anyone ever thought about the players making $38 MILLION a year out there? Those are the real heroes. How could they ever find the strength to play that many games for such a small check?

Could you imagine if the Angels actually made the postseason one of these years? He'd probably call the police. You see players sign with teams all the time where the fit just isn't there. Anthony Rendon was born to be a modern day Los Angeles Angel.
