Jeff Hoffman Blew A Kiss To The Orioles Dugout After The O's Front Office Flagged Hoffman's Shoulder And Pulled Their Contract Offer To Him This Past Offseason

It feels good to hate the Blue Jays again, it really does. A good afternoon on the mound for Jeff Hoffman as he shut down the O's late in the game and secured the win for Toronto. You know it felt good for Hoffman and that he had been waiting all off-season for this opportunity. See, he wasn't happy that the Orioles doctors flagged his physical when he was about to sign a deal with Baltimore for three-years and $40 million. The O's pulled their deal due to concerns seen, as did the Braves a few days later. Atlanta had a five-year deal on the table and walked away after seeing his shoulder, obviously something isn't right with it. Two different teams with 0 communication agreed on that, but it didn't stop the Jays from swooping in and signing him to a three-year, $33 million deal. He ends up with the last laugh so far after blowing a kiss directly into the Orioles dugout after the Jays come from behind 7-6 win on Sunday, a game where the O's could have used Hoffman for sure. A little shit talking is good for the rivalry, even though no one in the O's dugout even saw it or had anything to do with it.

Hoffman's clearly using it as a chip on his shoulder and that's perfectly fine, do what you gotta do to get you going. He should keep the same energy with Atlanta too when he faces them, just saying. And again, he earned the right to puff out his chest and blow kisses, he's been incredible for the Jays this season. But again, two teams saw issues with that throwing shoulder, it's gonna go at some point you'd think. The O's also have six more games against the Jays, they'll get their shot at him. I don't think this turns into anything between the teams simply because like I said earlier, literally none of the O's saw it nor did those guys in the dugout have a single thing to do with what happened. But it sure got the fans fired up, Blue Jays were always a fun team to hate, they've got this cockiness about them and they're very easy to hate. Hoffman and his feelings brought a little fire back to the rivalry from the fans side and I like it.
