Sports Teams Need To Start Rebuking Fans Who Make Shitty Playoff "Anthems"

If I've said it once, I've said it at least 13 or 14 times before. People who make these shitty playoff anthems for their favorite teams are some of the most selfish pieces of shit on the planet.

Because nobody ever asks for this. Nobody ever wants these songs to exist. At the very best, they are harmless. Literally the best case scenario is that one of these songs gets made and people just forget about it entirely. But more often than not, these "anthems" put an insurmountable amount of bad juju onto the team it's made for. It gives the opposing fanbase unlimited ammunition to fight back with. The song sucks shit, it turns into a massive joke, and now nobody will ever take your franchise serious ever again.

This isn't a unique issue with the Ottawa Senators right now. We've seen this happen time and time again. Perhaps one of the most egregious cases we've ever witnessed were these jabronis from San Diego with the "That's What's In" Padres track.

The funny thing is that out of this entire genre of sports fans attempting to make an anthem for their favorite team, this one might actually be my favorite. It was from the heart. There was nothing "try hard" about this one. The rest of them always seem like they're coming from a bunch of losers who are desperate to get attention, see an easy way to maybe get their name out on the radio, and hope that people start to listen to their other piece of shit songs once they listen to the sports one. I'm pretty sure that's exactly how the Beatles got famous.

It sucks for the teams because they're caught in an impossible situation. You don't want to shit on your fans for being passionate and supportive. But at the same time...literally nobody asked for a god awful parody of Song 2 by Blur. It's not even like they are covering a band from Ottawa or anything. Just dog shit all around. Now the Senators, and every other pro sports team who has had to endure these awful attempted anthems, have to just accept it as a part of life. It's not right.
