The Falcons Trade Back Into the First Round and Get ANOTHER Elite Pass Rusher in James Pearce Jr.

If you thought you were making it out of Thursday night of the NFL Draft without Atlanta Falcons chaos, you were sorely mistaken. The Dirty Birds paid a hefty price to move back into the first round and take James Pearce Jr. to pair with Jalon Walker off the edge.

This is a steal as far as I'm concerned. They could have given up their next five first round picks.

In all seriousness, though, Pearce is a monster. NFL teams were concerned about some reported character issues, but if you turn on the film against the best competition in the country, this is absolutely a guy you go get at No. 26 if he's there. Atlanta needed a pass rusher desperately and now comes out of the first round with what could be two elite ones for the next decade. If that's the case, the price doesn't matter.

This time last year, Pearce was a popular pick to be the No. 1 overall pick in way-too-early mock drafts and now he's an Atlanta Falcon. This is why we do it, folks.
