The NHL Needs To Stop Fuckin' Cutting Away From Post-Series Handshake Lines Because It's The Biggest Asshole Move Of The Playoffs So Far
After the Carolina Hurricanes put an end to the double-overtime Jacob Markström show Tuesday night and the New Jersey Devils in the process, every good hockey fan stuck around to watch the tradition of honor and sportsmanship that is the post-series handshake line. Guys who were beating the tar out of each other 90 seconds ago are now shaking, and occasionally, hugging it out. Count me among those who always stick around for it whether in the arena or on the recliner. The NHL even made handshakes the focus of one of their many wildly popular Stanley Cup commercials.
"It's not yours until you shake on it."
So tell me then why the fuck league partners simply CUT AWAY from this time-honored and anticipated tradition?
This Tweet is spot-on as well.
Here they are…
When you're streaming a game on max, you click on that specific game and when it ends, you have to 'X' out and start streaming the next game under a different thumbnail. So to cut away to the first period of Edmonton/L.A. when you're locked in on Jersey/Carolina makes zero fucking sense whatsoever. When you click on the thumbnail for Canes vs. Devils in the playoffs, the expectation is that you are going to see the post-game handshakes before cutting away or going to an interview--certainly not the game you normally need to manually pull-up on a different stream. It's a brutal fuck-up, plain and simple.
But then after the Caps finished of a game Habs squad, viewers were once again deprived of seeing their respective warriors bury the hatchet after a hell of a battle. Specifically, these two animals…

(Somebody say Snuka vs. Muraco?!? Shoutout to Paulie Walnuts for this sick work on the Kodak Disc…)
Bro has a valid point.
Once is too fucking much, twice is unacceptable. But to do it when future Hockey Hall of Fame and now retired goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is going through the last one of his fantastic career? Versus a former team? It's a goddamn joke and an insult to anybody who follows the sport.
Here are the clips so many were denied for some unknown patchwork reason.
I don't recall ever seeing this happen before this season. And now it's happened three fucking times to pockets of viewers for no good reason. From every NHL fan watching your product--whoever is in charge of this needs to clean it the fuck up. STAT.
Play the goddamn handshake line then go to the pre-anthem portion or first period of the other game and rescue it from the TCWM* Network. This is Airing The Playoffs 101 shit. Fix it.
