General Mills Is Giving Away 10,000 Boxes Of Marshmallow-Only Lucky Charms

Time-
Those who meticulously search for marshmallows in their bowls of Lucky Charms are now in luck. General Mills announced Monday that it is giving away 10,000 boxes of Lucky Charms filled with only marshmallows. To win one of the limited-edition boxes, which will hit the shelves across the U.S. starting this month, customers must buy specially marked cereal boxes that include a 14-digit code. Fans can then enter that code at MarshmallowOnly.com to see if they won.

This is not the first time General Mills has created a marshmallow-only version of the cereal. In 2015, it released 10 boxes of the breakfast treat. The cereal giant decided to bring back the marshmallow-only boxes as part of a larger sweepstakes due to demand from customers, according to Lucky Charms senior marketing manager Priscilla Zee. “We were overwhelmed with calls, e-mails and tweets last year, asking for a box of our Lucky Charms marshmallows,” she said in a statement. “So this year we wanted to give them even more opportunities to win.”

This may come as a surprise to some people, but I am not a fan of Marshmallow-only Lucky Charms. It is the epitome of too much of a good thing. You need to have the shitty oat pieces in a bowl of Lucky Charms to make the marshmallows a treat. Without them it’s like having unlimited rainbows without the rain or winning the Super Bowl in Madden on Rookie or inheriting your millions instead of earning them brick by brick. Spring weather doesn’t feel as good if it isn’t preceeded by winter. All reward with no risk definitely causes some of the flavor to get lost in the sauce (trademark: Johnny Manziel). You need both the yin and the yang of life to keep that delicate balance even. It’s why a Stuf-only Oreo would be destined to fail from the jump no matter how much I would believe it not to be true. Lucky Charms marshmallows by themselves are a stale ass mallow that can only be softened thanks to the perfect texture of milk. But with those oats acting as a pass-first defense-second shoot-last role player, the marshmallows are able shine like superstars.
