Jerry Jones Wants To Fire Roger Goodell... Wait What?

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has impeded the progress of contract negotiations aimed at an extension for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, according to sources familiar with those talks.
“If not for Jerry,” one person familiar with the contract negotiations said this weekend, “this deal would be done.”
During Deflategate:
“I do support the commissioner,” Jones stated. “And I support the commissioner for what his position relative to the rules and the sanctions.”
In May of 2015, Jones praised Goodell’s fairness.
“I think he’s doing a great job, and I’m a big supporter of his,” Jones said of Goodell in the midst of the DeflateGate saga. “I’ve certainly had the benefit of his role as commissioner and being penalized in the past. But I’m a big supporter of his. I know one of his best qualities is fairness.”
Regarding the Patriots’ opposition to the commissioner’s ruling, Jones offered a simple solution: “You can easily just follow the rules and you’ll be all right.”
In August last year, Jones said, “I’m all for the power of the commissioner.”
“I’m really getting mouthy here, but what I’m really trying to say is that I’m for the commissioner having the power,” Jones added.
And on and on and on and on it went. Every time a microphone was put in Jerry Jones face he ranted and raved about how great Roger Goodell was. How evil the Patriots are. Now the roles are reversed. Ezekiel Elliot is accused of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and gets suspended by the league without proof and Jerry wants to fire Goodell.
We’re talking about allegations of deflating footballs vs beating a woman. And the domestic abuse is the case Jerry wants to plant his flag in the ground on? Amazing. Hey Jerry Let me give you the same advice you gave pats fans. You don’t want your players suspended? Tell em to stop allegedly beating women. I mean can you look like a bigger dirtball?
I’m so conflicted. Yeah I want Goodell gone, but the fact it’s Jerry Jones leading me into battle? The phrase “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” has never faced a bigger test than this situation.
