Time To Put The Razor Away. HEADstrong's Lax Stache Madness Has Officially Begun
So last week I wrote about the HEADstrong Foundation and their #LaxStacheMadness campaign. Feel free to check out that article here, it has everything you need to know about the foundation, about Nick Collelouri, and about how the campaign started. Essentially it’s just their own spin on Movember where they try to get as many college teams in the country to come together and grow out their mustaches to raise money for a common cause. That cause is to raise funds and awareness for families affected by cancer and their goal this year is to raise at least $200,000. That number represents the amount of people who will be diagnosed with cancer within the 6 weeks that this campaign is going on for. Since HEADstrong is a cause and foundation that means a ton to me personally, I figured I’d hop in on the campaign this year as well.
If you’d like to make a donation to HEADstrong, here’s a link to the donation page. All proceeds with directly benefit guest families of Nick’s House, a family guest home operated by the HEADstrong Foundation, that provides complimetary lodging and support for patients and families pursuing comprehensive cancer treatment and clinical trials.
As for my mustache… well it’s… it’s definitely not good in the traditional sense of the word.
Right now it looks like I just forgot to wash my face this morning. Obviously I got a few days head start on the campaign. Here’s the thing. My apartment is right next to a playground. If I didn’t get a head start on the campaign and started completely from scratch, I’d have a major pedo stache within a few days. I can’t be walking by a playground with that thing on my lip. Even today it hasn’t been great. Mothers are definitely gripping up their young ones a little tighter when I walk by. But hopefully by the end of these 6 weeks, I’ll actually look like a man. And hopefully by the end of these 6 weeks, we will have risen a shit ton of money for HEADstrong and a shit ton of money for families who need the help.
