In case you missed it over the weekend, the entire state of Hawaii was sent into a full on panic when they were alerted that a ballistic missile was heading towards them and to seek shelter. Was it a drill? Well,,,

it most certainly was not.

But as it turns out, there was no missile (wink, wink)*. It was a mistake and was corrected a mere 38 minutes later.

There is good news now though. Because of this little itsy bitsy mistake, Hawaii now requires TWO buttons get hit before sending the state into mass hysteria, not just one. That’s right, folks. You know how it takes like 4 different buttons to confirm you want to order an Uber? Well, the amount of buttons to send ballistic missile threat notifications is inching towards it.

Alls well that ends well, and lots of children got to learn if they were their parents favorite or not.

*PS: I want to believe this was no mistake. There really was a missile. That Hawaii was under attack. And some back room, last second, Cuban Missile Crisis type negotiations got the missile out of the sky at the very last second. Maybe we’ll get this information declassified in like 30 years and get a really awesome movie out of it. I refuse to believe this was just a mistake. No way hosay.
